
Eric was born in a village called Shirati (Tarime District) in the Mara region of Tanzania in 1978 where his parents were teachers. Eric went on to high school in the northern frontier district of Kenya where wildlife was still found in abundance outside parks and reserves.
After completing high school, he studied for a diploma in Tourism and Travel through a hospitality college in Kenya. With successful completion of the curriculum, Eric managed a lodge on Lake Turkana, Northern Kenya. Tanzania beckoned and he went on to manage Rubondo Island camp.
In February 2005, Eric joined Ker & Downey and took over the management of Sidai Lodge and later became a photographic guide. His speaks five African languages, has a comprehensive deep knowledge of the various tribes in Tanzania, and a great passion for the bush which makes him the perfect guide.
