Accommodation

Most lodges are imaginatively built to blend into their surroundings with style and size
varying enormously from lodge to lodge. All are situated to take in the magnificent views
across broad flood plains, endless savanna, volcanic craters, life giving rivers and forested
mountains. Some are built with the central facilities and rooms in one building, a sort of
bush hotel, and others have each room as its own private house. All have en suite bathroom
facilities. Some of the best and most interesting incorporate thatch roofs, with stone or
wood collected locally, and many have uniquely designed swimming pools. As a rule the smaller
lodges are the most exclusive and hence the more expensive.
Dining
Although cooked in permanent kitchens, the food in lodges is
very similar to our Classic Tented Safaris with lots of imaginatively well prepared fresh
locally produced meat and vegetables, fruit and salads. All the lodges and permanent tented
camps have a wide selection of imported and local wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks.
